Can Lluc Ibiza
A stunning Agrotourism in the heart of the White Isle, this gorgeous renovated finca is testimony that Ibiza isn't just a clubbers' paradise: it's extremely family-friendly, too.
At first glance, Can Lluc Ibiza doesn’t scream of being child-friendly. It’s rural and very tranquil location on the White Isle, not to mention the calm and serene atmosphere that evades it, may make parents feel they’ve brought loud noise to an otherwise sedate space. But this tranquility and seclusion is precisely why it’s a great family spot. If you don’t want to be smack in the middle of the Ibiza clubbing scene or even slightly likely to be kept awake at night by nocturnal revellers giddy on dance tunes and strong liquor, this beautiful and luxurious idyll is just what you’re after. There is, as we know, so much more to Ibiza than the sunset strip of Santa Eulalia; Can Lluc pays homage to Ibiza’s charm and immense beauty with its nearby secluded beaches, bulging almond, olive and locust trees and unspoiled surrounding landscape. It is, what is known in Spain, as an “agrotourism,” offering accommodation in an ecologically protected area of great beauty and built within the walls of a stunning converted Spanish finca.
For You -
After island exploration, you’ll adore relaxing against the backdrop of the estates gardens and enjoying a glass of cold Albarino. The gorgeous swimming pool serves as the very heart of Can Lluc (you can relax in the sun safe in the knowledge that your children are within plain site) and there is also a jacuzzi and a well-equipped gym if you overdo the Iberico Bellota chorizo. Foodies will adore the on-site ‘Restaurant a la carta’ which nods to the current trend of local produce by offering wines produced from the estate itself, as well as dishes that include almonds, olives and fruits all grown on Can Lluc’s grounds.
For Them +
There are facilities for babies, such as babysitting and nannying services, but we recommend this as a fantastic spot for those travelling with older children and teens who will adore exploring the island with you in a rented Wrangler Jeep or on the water in a private boat (both are available by arrangement through the hotel). If your brood are high-energy and adventurous, they’ll love days enjoying the nearby kayaking, horse-riding, cycling and biking that is available. Day trips across the island can be arranged by the owners of Can Lluc so you needn’t worry about coming up with continual inspiration for your children, though most are equally happy spending days splashing in the gorgeous pool to stay cool in the searing Ibizan summer heat.
