The Hotel Urban Madrid is a family-friendly hotel in the heart of the city. it's a hop from Madrid's art triangle, yet also has a gallery of its own.
If you’re staying in Madrid with your family, the chances are you’ll want to introduce them to some of this capital’s eclectic culture and there is no better location from which to do so than the La Terraza del Urban. Wedged between the Museo del Prado, the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum and the Queen Sofía Foundation, this gorgeous five-star property with 96 rooms makes a stroll to the galleries and stunning nearby Retiro Park (don’t miss the rose garden) a doodle. La Terrazzo del Urban is a gorgeous terrace with a pool that makes a lovely spot in which to relax and stay cool from the piercing Madrid summer heat and, should you make the most of the hotel’s excellent concierge service, you can wander up while the kids are watched by a babysitter and enjoy an evening cocktail with sweeping views across this stunning Spanish city.
For You -
Aside from the cocktail bar that can be found on the roof terrace, Hotel Urban Madrid has a cocktail and oyster bar on its first floor and the revered Europa Decó restaurant if you don’t feel like dining out. Though there isn’t a spa to speak of, there is a wonderful gym and steam room and the concierge can book beauty and spa treatments in and around the city for you.
For Them +
The restaurant is happy to take orders of whatever the children fancy so, although it’s well known on the Madrid restaurant scene, it’s definitely family-friendly. The excellent concierge will gladly arrange everything for families from day trips to museum tickets, restaurant bookings to transportation and, of course, baby-sitting services within the hotel, should you need them. The location of this hotel is what we love about it most, so perfectly located near the park and the galleries of central Madrid it is, and the pool is, of course, a huge pull for children. There is an atrium on the first floor of this hotel which houses an incredible art collection of jewellery, mask and crowns from Papau New Guinea which children will love, too.
