Le Royal Monceau
Philippe Stark interiors, an ideal location and the fantastic Le Petit Royal children's program make Le Royal Monceau Raffles Paris the perfect Parisian pitstop.
Given that this seriously chic hotel is in Paris, one expects a certain pomp and Le Royal Monceau Raffles Paris more than delivers. To start with, the entire interior (including the all white Clarins spa) is designed by Philippe Stark. The 1940’s and 1950’s inspired interiors, never more flamboyant and fabulous than in the three Presidential Suites, take the hotel onto the ‘Palace Distinction” list, which marks it as being one step up from a coveted 5 star rating (there are only 6 of these in the whole city). It boasts the longest swimming pool in all of Paris, has the Michelin starred chef Laurent André in the kitchen and boasts the wonderful Le Petit Royal children’s program, proving the hotel pays as much attention to its mini guests as their parents.
For You -
Retail lovers will adore the location of Le Royal Monceau Raffles Paris that couldn’t be more perfectly situated for those after the temptations that define the Champs Elysées. Though if you don’t feel like going far the hotel has a fantastic boutique of its own, Le Royal Eclaireur. The Arc de Triomphe is moments away and the hotel actually has an “art concierge” for those who really want to inhale the city’s culture. The Clarins spa is exceptional – both for its size and range of gorgeous products. There are two restaurants in the hotel – La Cuisina and Il Carpaccio, both of which hold coveted Michelin stars, and Le Bar Long (again, all done by Philippe Stark) is a hip city hangout in its own right. Le Royal Monceau is designed to feel more like a private members’ club than a hotel, which really shows, though that makes its family-friendly nature all the more surprising.
For Them +
What makes Le Petit Royal children’s program stand out head and shoulders above the competition is that is gives as much thought to entertaining children outside the hotel walls, and enjoying the glorious city in which is located, as it does within Le Royal Monceau Raffles Paris. Children can participate in scavenger hunts around Paris (posing as Claude Monet at Giverny or dancing as a Prima Ballerina are just two examples). And for serious young shopaholics, Le Royal Monceau’s personal shopper will guide young ones through the best children’s boutiques in the city. Back at the hotel, children can choose crash-courses in macaroon making or pizza cheffing, all under the expertise of Michelin-star Chef Roberto Rispoli.
