Spice Island Beach Resort
Spice Island Beach Resort is boutique in size and family-run so loaded with family-friendly considerations.
Local materials abound with gorgeous, ocean-inspired textiles in the beach-front suites and interconnecting family rooms at Spice Island, a beach resort that is boutique in feel and family-run. As such, the thought given to those travelling with children is detailed, thorough and delivered with a warm Grenadian smile. The beachfront suites sit right along the sand though, if you have young children and don’t want to be that close to the water at all times, there are lots of higher level options either with a garden or ocean view. Spice Island Beach Resort is only a ten-minute drive from the airport so you can, quite literally, fly to Grenada and flop in no time.
For You -
The resort, aside from luxury surroundings in which to fully relax, offers local green fees on golf courses, tennis and cycling, and use of Hobie-cats and ocean kayaks. Spice Island has a fantastic on-site designer boutique, and babysitting services are available with 24 hours notice so you can enjoy a night alone. Janissa’s Spa uses lots of local produce, such as nutmeg, for delicious treatments and, best of all, Spice Island is very eco-friendly so you can indulge with a clear conscience.
For Them +
The hotel’s activity centre for children (known as “The Nutmeg Pod”) is fully-supervised by two qualified members of staff who organize an array of activities for children aged 3 – 12, such a painting and arts and crafts. There is a Wii for those who can’t leave video games at home and Oliver’s Restaurant has a great children’s menu, though they will happily take pre-orders for baby purees or special dishes desired by young guests. Cots are available in the rooms and suites, as are pull-out beds and roll-away cots for older children.
