Maia Luxury Resort and Spa is serious Seychellois luxury accommodation just a short drive from Victoria on the southwest coast of Mahé island.
From the winding coastal road below Maia Luxury Resort and Spa, one can peak the sea grass roofs of each villa that poke flirtatiously from its granite perch on the sea. The views from each are unrivalled, seen best from within the 25-foot infinity pool or outdoor bathtub that comes with each. From a dedicated in-villa butler-service (your copy of the Times is personalised with your name each morning) to the sumptuous beds that also face the ocean, the very friendly staff and endless kiddie activities, you’ll find it nigh impossible to tear yourself away from Maia and see what else the island and those around it have on offer. One particularly nice touch is “The Perfect Dinner,” created exclusively for younger guests, which involves children choosing where they want to eat (beach, poolside or in their villa for example) and then they choose the food they want, be it Thai or Japanese, Indian or Mediterranean.) Supervised by Maia staff, children decorate their table using flowers and foliage picked from the grounds that day and get involved with the cooking alongside the chefs.
For You -
Aside from the some of the most beautiful villas around, the exquisite food, and the views of the Indian Ocean, there is the Maia spa (a massage on arrival will totally revive you from feeling any jet lag in the Omorovicza Spa). The outdoor bathtub can be filled on request (you’ll come “home” to find lots of bountiful Frangipani floating in the bubbles). Maia can organize day trips to surrounding islands on a large and extremely luxurious motor yacht, too.
For Them +
Maia features the VIK program (Very Important Kids,) which offers 24 / 7 babysitting on tap, and spa treatments for little ones such as a Lavender Oil Massage, a painted foot mask and banana split bubble bath. Ever popular is the Maia Treasure Hunt, which involves children being taken on a seven-clue treasure hunt through Maia to find Captain Boileau’s ancient buried jewels. Excursions include wildlife tours of La Digue and Bird Island (popular with kids because of the dramatic volcanic rock formations, rare birds and turtles) and with Maia’s “Whatever, Wherever, Whenever” attitude to service, both you and your children can have every desire met at any time of day or night.
