The Sutton Place Vancouver
Just off busy Robson Street, The Sutton Place, Vancouver is a boutique-style hotel with European touches.
The Sutton Place Vancouver is in the hub of the city’s shopping district (Robson Street, Alberni Street and Pacific Centre are just a few minutes away on foot). In a city dominated by airy West Coast design, many guests love the French Provençal style of the hotel (the plush couches, large flower arrangements and ornate window treatments are all very lovely). The staff are attentive and the rooms are fair-sized, with flat screen TVs, glass showers and heavenly beds.
For You -
The hotel is home to Vida Spa, which blends spiritual and physical wellness with treatments like Ayurveda, based on traditional Indian practice. Whether you need to stave off jet leg or calm an overstressed mind, your dosha (personality) is uncovered through a short questionnaire, which helps with choosing essential oils and post-treatment advice. To truly experience West Coast Zen, consider a private restorative yoga class – an ever-popular Vancouver experience. When it’s time to play head down to the Gerard Room, modeled after an English club with fireplaces, leather couches and moose heads on the wall for a stiff cocktail and maybe even a celebrity sighting (the hotel is known to be a favourite of Hollywood actors when working in Vancouver).
For Them +
The hotel has plenty of adjoining suites if you are traveling with teens that “need space” or you want a little space of your own from babies or toddlers. For babies, a crib is complimentary and, for older children, there are lots of video games to borrow. Request baby proofing before you arrive (free with your visit) and if you’ve forgotten to pack the baby food, don’t fret – the room service menu has organic puree options and even gourmet PB&J sandwiches. If the 4-legged kids are joining you, dogs are welcome with a small deposit fee. Dog bowls, toys and a comfy bed are all there when needed.
