Particularly good if you’re travelling with a young baby, Thurlestone is a stunning luxury hotel near Salcombe.
Family-owned since 1896, Thurlestone Hotel in South Devon is great if you’re travelling with tiny children – high chairs, a baby-listening service, pre-booked babysitting, kid’s menus and daily complimentary high tea for children are just for starters. Perching proudly on the sea in South Devon, Thurlestone offers an array of golf and great local walks down winding Devonshire lanes. The hotel itself is set within 19 acres of sub tropical gardens, and it’s a brief five-minute walk from the sea. The AA Rosette sea view restaurant, Margaret Amelia Restaurant, is delightful and, should the weather permit, you can dine al fresco either by the pool or on the hotel’s terrace.
For You -
The hotel is just s stone’s throw Salcombe’s art galleries and boutiques and, if you’re after some fresh sea air, there is a sandy Blue Flag beach nearby. The Voyage Spa is sure to restore with its tranquil indoor pool, sauna, steam room, laconium and hydrotherapy pool. The treatment menu is Ocean-inspired (lots of salt scrubs and wonderfully natural products are available) and, if it’s exercise you’re after, the fitness centre is state-of-the-art.
